The latest mobile telephone technologies with depth cameras enable us to virtualize our facial expression and apply them on 3D avatar models. This technology is now undergoing a huge consumer adaptation shift where a consumers can become an avatar and create an virtual version of themselves - a virtual friend. Communication between avatars is quickly getting closer to mimic real life facial communication.
We are now developing a 3D avatar generator that allow users to create:
1. Personalized cartoonish stylized avatars based on a selfie photo.
2. An avatar editor to modify character look and traits.
3. A randomized avatar generator that creates avatars based on user inputs.
For this challenge we seek passionate developers with an expertise in integrating different 3D technologies to fulfill a great product. We are open to build the product on existing open source frameworks.
Your key tasks will include:
The goal of the internship/master thesis internship will result in an end-to-end module that can be used for production in our studio app.
Key steps in development involve:
Apply external SDKs to translate camera footage into a cartoonish avatar model.
Integrating raw facial (blendshape) data and voice from recordings done by our creators in our studio app and apply them to the newly created avatar model.
Design our avatar creation framework (what to change, how, and in what order)from a user perspective (you’ll get to team up with our UX designers).
Integrate your module with our studio app including the avatar generator.
Perform end-user testing with rapid prototyping for an iterative development process.
An interest in integrating 3D open source libraries is important. Experience with C#, Unity eco-system and iOS ARKit is a plus.
This is a 5 months paid internship or “Master Thesis Internship”. We are looking for long-term key individuals to join us on our journey, thus a successful match between us and the intern could lead to full-time employment.
